While talking with you all about eating (and we did that quite offen!) and the differencies between our habits, I was surprised that from everywhere, you were considering french as strange people that were, moreover awfull cheese which is true, frog legs and snails. I have to say that I was used to hear that but as I never tried frogs neither snails, I was curious to know how it is...

And after looking in my bilble, "La Cuisinière Provençale" which is the best cooking book ever on the traditional meal of my region (La Provence), I realised that there was no recipe on the way to cook frog legs but... there was one about snails... ;-) and reading that made me hungry... I swear! So I promise my self while coming back home to pick up some snails and prepare them...

But the problem with snails is that there are no really coming out when it's sunny like it was this summer... so I forgot this idea. But it rained a few days ago and while walking I felt some under my feet... those were not anymore to eat! ;-) Anyway It reminds me that I still have to try!

So today, I went to my garden and I looked for some... and as you can see, I found some!

But as you can imagine, those snails as to be prepared for beeing ready to process... ;-) So I give you the tips that gave me the grandmother of my neighboor! They need in fact to fast, that means they have to stay some days without food, then they could eat some good herbs (no drugs!) like thymian or fennel to be ready for cooking...

So don't say that I am crual, I just enjoy the gift of nature! ;-) See you in 10 days for apéritif! (some will say tapas... ;-)

update : it took me 4 hours to prepare them, but it was very good! ;-) Unfortunately, there is no pictures of the events, but for those interested on learning how to cook them, just tell me, and I will explain it!
